Abua/Odual: Indigene Makes Case for Siting Motor Park Project at Anyu Community

An indigene of Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wariboko Believing Jr has called on the Chairman of the LGA and Odual Council of Chiefs to consider siting the soon-to-be constructed Motor Park in the area at Anyu Community.

According to him, Anyu Community’s position makes it ideal for the motor park project, “especially, around the Ekaago axis”.

“Our reason was simple – Anyu sits at the center of the Odual area, especially by road.”

He stressed that “Anyu is close to Emelego, Okolomade, and Ekunuga. It is also not far from Adada and Ogboloma”.

“Even from Odau, Obedum, and Emirikpoko, Anyu is still within easy reach.”

He averred that “a central transport hub in Anyu would give our people reliable access to vehicles heading to Bayelsa, Mbiama, Ahoada, and Port Harcourt”.

He regretted that past administrations in the LGA ignored this strategic project, which he explained would have improved the public transport system in the area as it would have attracted investors in the transport sector.

“If this had been done earlier, as the ABOLGA Mass Transit buses started covering the Odual route, private investors in the transport sector would have keyed in, taking advantage of the steady movement of people in and out of Odual.”

He appealed to the Odual Council of Chiefs to make a recommendation to the current administration in Local Government to consider building the motor park in the community.

“I still strongly believe that the Odual Council of Chiefs should recommend Anyu Community as the site for the proposed motor park to be constructed by the Local Government.”

Development enthusiasts in the area view Believing Jr’s proposition, if considered by the Owolobi Ofori led Local Government administration, as one that would serve to accentuate the developmental profile of Anyu Community and the Ekaago axis.
