Residents of Dutse–Sokale Community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja have continued to lament the worsening condition of roads in the area.
They emphasize the worsening situation, especially during the rainy season, saying many commuters are forced to take alternative routes just to avoid the deplorable road network.

In various interviews with Kristina Reports, some of them explained that the connecting roads in the Dutse-Sokale Community have become increasingly difficult to navigate due to deep potholes, erosion, and flooding whenever it rains.
Motorists, tricycle operators, and pedestrians are often left stranded or delayed as movement becomes nearly impossible in some sections of the area.

Kristina Reports learnt that during heavy downpours, some parts of the road are completely cut off, forcing residents to divert through longer and more expensive routes in order to reach nearby junctions and other parts of the FCT.
Residents who spoke to Kristina Reports described the situation as “frustrating,” as drivers avoid the area due to fear of vehicle damage.

A commercial tricycle operator, Musa, said he now avoids the inner Sokale roads entirely, lamenting the daily struggle and urging urgent government intervention.
“Abeg federal government make una help us, dis road don spoil reach level wey e dey scatter our bike every time rain fall. We dey suffer too much for dis side.”
Many residents also complained that emergency movement becomes difficult whenever it rains heavily, with some households cut off temporarily due to flooding and muddy roads.
A community member added that poor infrastructure has long been neglected in parts of the axis.
“For Dutse side, some of our communities no even get proper road and drainage at all. Every rain na wahala, everywhere go just turn to water and mud.”

Concerned community members are now calling on the FCT Administration to urgently intervene and carry out proper road rehabilitation and drainage construction, warning that the situation could worsen if left unattended as the rains intensify.
So far, no official statement has been issued regarding immediate reconstruction plans for the Dutse-Sokale Road network, while residents continue to endure daily hardship and longer commuting hours.
