Fubara Poised on Making Rivers State Economic Hub, Flags Off PHCCIMA Permanent Complex Construction

Governor Siminialayi Fubara has reiterated his drive to transform Rivers State into an economic hub through industrialisation, promotion of small and micro enterprises as well as the provision of critical infrastructure.

Fubara, who was represented by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo, stated this on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area while flagging off construction works at the permanent site of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA).

“Our vision for Rivers State is one of prosperity, where businesses thrive, investments flourish, and opportunities abound for all our residents.

“The establishment of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Permanent structure is a testament to our commitment to providing the necessary climate that supports and nurtures our business community.”

He commended the Chamber for its sincere efforts in contributing to the development of the State, noting that “our administration understands that infrastructure is the bedrock of economic development, that is why we do not trivialise important efforts like that of PHACCIMA”.

“Be assured that our commitment towards investing in roads, power, water, and other critical infrastructures that will make Rivers State a preferred destination for businesses and investors is on the priority chart of our operations.”

In his remarks, the President of PHCCIMA, Mike Elechi said the new complex would serve as a hub for business activities, providing modern facilities and a conducive environment for entrepreneurs to collaborate, innovate, and grow with diverse opportunities for businesses to access resources, support, and networks they need to succeed.

The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Ikwerre LGA, Darlington Orji, PhD, thanked the Governor for his persistent love for Ikwerre LGA which has made him site many state investments in the LGA, assuring that the entire LGA would reciprocate his love when the time is ripe.
