Following the reactions on social media platforms that accompanied the nomination of Emmanuel Frank-Fubara as commissioner nominee to the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, the nominee now commissioner for finance, Rivers State has clarified that he is not related to Governor Siminalayi Fubara by blood.

Emmanuel Frank-Fubara made this clarifications Monday morning in the hallowed chamber of the Rivers State house of assembly, Port Harcourt, during his screening.

He stated that the information peddled by some persons on social media that he is Governor Fubara’s brother is wrong. He disclosed that he is from Abonnema in Akuku-Toru local government area of the Kalabari extraction whereas Governor Fubara is from Opobo,

” I saw a lot of posts on social media alleging all sorts of things. But let me put the facts very clear. I’m from Abonnema and I have no blood relationship with the governor.”

He also clarified that the only relationship he has with Governor Siminalayi Fubara is a working relationship.

The house thereafter accented to his appointment as commissioner.

Governor Fubara while swearing in Emmanuel Frank-Fubara as commissioner for finance shortly after his confirmation by the house, charged him to make Rivers State proud through quality service delivery urging him to touch lives positively,

“So, Mr. Frank, this honour that God has given to you today, it is not for you to wear one big cap and put one rottweiler in front of your gate, no. Use the opportunity to touch lives.

“But, above all, make the state proud. Work in a manner that you’ve not worked before. Defend the interest of the State. That is what is important, and not to praise me. No. Don’t praise me.”
