All is now set for the long-awaited opening of the Bodo-Bonny Road which is billed to take place on Monday, December 8, 2025 by the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
Kristina Reports reliably learnt that in fulfilment of his promise to the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Abinye Pepple, when the latter visited him in Abuja, the Minister will carry out a joint inspection of the road on Monday.

Expected to accompany the Minister on the inspection tour are the Chairmen of Bonny and Gokana LGAs, officials of the Federal Ministry of Works, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), and Julius Berger Plc, heads of security agencies, and community leaders, amongst others.
The Minister is expected to officially declare the road open to traffic for commuters after the joint inspection before heading back to Abuja.
Sources within the Ministry hinted Kristina Reports that Umahi was determined to support the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom and the LGA Chairman in their quest to ease ingress for visitors going to Bonny to celebrate the Yuletide season.
Close watchers of the development allude to the efforts of the Bonny LGA Chairman at advocacy as yielding results, noting that, so far, he has continued to walk his talk and pursuing the actualization of his administration’s expressed objectives for the LGA.
Recall that the Chairman had on Saturday, November 15, 2025 convened a townhall meeting with stakeholders teething issues germane to the opening of the road were discussed and solutions proffered by relevant institutions including the security agencies.
