The management of the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, KenPoly, Bori, Ogoni, Rivers State, has concluded plans to hold a combined 25th to 32nd Convocation ceremony this year.
Consequently, a delegation team led by the Rector of the institution, George Wadike, made a courtesy call on the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Thomas Bariere, at the Khana Council Secretariat on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, to inform and formally invite him to the Polytechnic’s epoch-making convocation.

The Rector, who spoke on behalf of the team, started off by commiserating with the Khana Local Government Chairman over the gruesome murder of his Protocol Officer, Philip Barikui.
He further commended the proactive security measures adopted by the Khana Local Government under the leadership of Thomas Bariere, noting that the strategies, beyond the current challenges, have contributed significantly to making Bori and other communities across the LGA safer and more conducive for students and staff of the institution.
