The Safe City Volunteer Foundation has announced that the kidnap gang responsible for the recent murder of a palm wine tapper in Delta State has been neutralized in a coordinated security operation spanning Edo and Delta states.
In a statement personally signed by the Founder of the Foundation, Harrison Gwamnishu, revealed that the gang had been tracked across several communities after multiple kidnappings and a murder.

“After being trailed from Auchi, the gang fled to Ekpoma and then diverted toward the Uromi–Ewohimi axis,” Gwamnishu said.
“They eventually reached Igbodo in Delta State, where they kidnapped a woman and collected ransom. The victim has since identified the kidnappers.”
He disclosed that the same gang had been responsible for a series of violent incidents the previous week.
“Just last week, the gang kidnapped a man in Emuhu, Delta State, abducted two palm wine tappers, and killed one after failing to receive ransom,” he said. “They moved through Abavo and crossed into Urhonigbe in Edo North using the railway line.”
Gwamnishu said his team arrived Obiaruku four days ago to commence an operation backed by the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Possible Ajede.
“We received full support from the Distinguished Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon . (Barr.) Possible Ajede, who assigned officers from the State Command SACU and two civilian anti-cult operatives to join the operation,” he stated.
He explained that sustained air surveillance and intelligence gathering led security operatives to the gang’s exact hideout.
“Following multiple air surveillance operations, we moved in earlier today, stormed the hideout, neutralized the kidnappers, and recovered an AK-47 rifle along with mobile phones,” he confirmed.
Gwamnishu expressed deep appreciation to local and state authorities whose collaboration made the operation possible.
“Special appreciation goes to the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon. (Barr.) Possible Ajede, for his unwavering support and personal commitment that fueled this success,” he said.
“We also acknowledge Their Excellencies, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Monday Okpebholo, for their consistent efforts in ensuring full mobilization of security agencies.”
The Safe City Volunteer Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to working with authorities to combat insecurity across affected communities.
