Monarch Returns Pioneer Chieftaincy House to Apex Leadership Council, Charges New Chief on Kingdom-Wide Role

The Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Grand Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI has effectively returned the pioneer chieftaincy house, Nwaoju Allison Major House to the Bonny Chiefs Council after an interregnum.

This the Monarch did on Saturday, June 28, 2025 when he received the Chief and Head of the House, Dr Daddy Ibiewotogha Dappa Allison, Nwaoju XX, and formally inducted him into the apex traditional leadership Council at the King Perekule Palace, Bonny, Rivers State.

The eventful occasion, which had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life and well-meaning citizens of Bonny Kingdom, marked a new chapter in the annals of the island Kingdom’s tradition, custom and way of life.

Giving his charge to the new Chief, the king described the day as fraught with deep significance and the Chiefs role as a sacred duty being now a country chief with a kingdom-wide mandate.

“Today is a day of deep significance, not only for the Allison Major House, but the entirety of our great Kingdom. It is with joy and royal dignity that we gather in this historic King Perekule Royal Palace Hall to perform the sacred duty, the formal admission of Chief Elect, Daddy Dappa Allison, into the Bonny Chiefs Council as head and chief of the Allison Major House.”

“Bonny Chiefs Council is not merely a body of traditional leaders. It is the custodian of our ancestral wisdom, the upholder of our customs, and the bedrock of governance in our Kingdom.”

“To be admitted into this revered circle is both a privilege and a solemn responsibility, one that must be borne with integrity, courage and loyalty to the Kingdom.”

The revered Monarch noted that given Se-Alabo Daddy Dappa Allison’s emergence via due process and ancestral consent as the legitimate head of the Nwaoju Allison Major House, he consequently becomes a linkage between the past and future, continuity and stability.

Chief Elect Daddy Dappa Allison has emerged through due process and ancestral consent as the rightful head of the Allison Major House. On your ascension, you are now a living bridge between the past and the future of your House; a symbol of continuity and stability.

As you join your fellow Chiefs in Council, remember always that your voice will speak not only for your house, but also in the interest of the unity and progress of our dear Bonny Kingdom.

We urge you to uphold the sacred traditions of your ancestor, to seek wisdom in Council and to walk the path of peace, dignity and service. We also charge the elders and members of the Allison House to rally behind their new chief with unwavering support and cooperation.

The king also commended the efforts of Bonny Chiefs’ Council for maintaining the sanctity and structure of Bonny Kingdom’s traditional leadership.

In his acceptance speech, the Chief and Head of the Nwaoju Allison Major House, Se-alabo Dr Daddy Ibiewotogha Dappa Allison, Nwaoju XX expressed his desire to understudied and leverage the knowledge and experience of older members of the cabinet, asserting that he remains optimistic that he cannot fail.

“I am an embodiment of knowledge because I have so many counsellors, experienced, brilliant fathers and they are epitome of Knowledge.”

In his goodwill message, the Chief and Head of the Ada-Allison House, Se-Alabo Benjamin Dagogo Ada-Allison congratulated the newly inducted Chief on his ascension to the stool of his forebearers without rancour.

“I wish you Se-alabo Daddy Ibiewotogha Dappa Allison, a successful and enjoyable term of the leadership. As you have been told, you are now a country chief of Bonny Kingdom. Don’t betray the trust of the Bonny Council of Chiefs and the Allison House.”

In another goodwill message, Vice Chairman of the Bonny Kingdom Titled Citizens Assembly (TCA), Fred Pepple, described as “heart-warming” the emergence of another member of the TCA as a Chief, advising that the responsibility should be carried out with diligence and patriotism.

“I will add that your new status comes to with great responsibilities which transcends your cheap dancing house. It carries with it decorum, integrity, and dedication.”

On his part, the Secretary of the Bonny Kingdom Development Committee (BKDC), Dr. Victor Jumbo, in his remark, recalled that the elected Chief was his schoolmate and superior, expressing his confidence that the Nwaoju Allison House could not have made a better choice.

“As a new member, the spotlight will be on you to see what value you will bring on board. You will learn new things and also unlearn old things.”

With his ingress into the apex traditional leadership body of Bonny Kingdom, expectations are high that Se-Alabo Dr Daddy Ibiewotogha Dappa Allison, Nwaoju XX, an astute businessman, dogged environmentalist, cerebral scholar and seasoned community leader will bring big value and huge impact on the leadership paradigm of Bonny Kingdom.
