PHCCIMA, NAWOJ Collaborate to Promote Investment Opportunities for Women

The Port Harcourt Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) and Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers Chapter have resolved to work together to promote investment opportunities in Rivers State.

President of PHCCIMA, Dr Chinyere Nwoga, and Chairperson of NAWOJ Rivers State Chapter, Susan Serekara-Nwikhana arrived at this consensus on Monday, December 1, 2025 when the latter’s executives paid the Chamber a courtesy visit in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The host, Dr. Nwoga said PHCCIMA is ready to partner with the NAWOJ to change the narrative about Rivers State, asserting that the forthcoming Port Harcourt International Trade Fair is a yardstick to shift the gaze of investors towards Rivers State while exploring other investment opportunities.

“I have no doubt that NAWOJ will help change these narratives and make it easier for business to come into Rivers State.”

“The Port Harcourt International Trade Fair is another avenue to explore the investment opportunities that abound in Rivers State.”

Earlier, the NAWOJ Chairperson, Susan Serekara-Nwikhana felicitated with Mrs. Nwoga as PHCCIMA’s first female President, commending her for her good work since assumption of office.

Serekara-Nwikhana also solicited for the Chamber’s support for the forthcoming NAWOJ National Summit, which will provide a platform for policy dialogue and advocacy on climate action.

“The summit will showcase innovation promoting women’s leadership sustainability and foster partnership and amplify the voices of women and children.”

In her remarks, Chairman of the National Summit, Vivian Okogbulem appreciated the efforts of PHCCIMA President, commending her for standing strong and tall in the face of the challenges she has face so far.

Okogbulem advised the PHCCIMA President to keep the ball rolling as there have been visible changes since her inception into the office.
