The management of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has denied claims linking him to alleged drink spiking, saying such claims do not form part of the allegations or charges before a United Kingdom court.
The clarification came in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, amid growing public discussions surrounding the legal case against the dancer.
Poco Lee’s management and legal team said the matter is now before the courts in the United Kingdom and urged the public, media organisations and other interested parties to exercise restraint while the legal process continues.
The statement, signed by Adedoyin Faleye on behalf of the management, stressed that allegations should not be interpreted as proof of guilt.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the team said.
The management said it was particularly concerned about what it described as a growing volume of unverified narratives surrounding the case, including claims that drink spiking was involved.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking,’ amongst other allegations which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the statement said.
The team also urged the public and media to avoid adding details that are not contained in the actual court proceedings, warning that such claims could fuel misinformation and unfairly prejudice those involved.
“We ask the public and media to desist from introducing details that are not part of the actual case, as doing so only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice to all parties involved,” the management said.
The clarification comes as Poco Lee faces criminal proceedings in the United Kingdom, with Snaresbrook Crown Court in London confirming that he has been charged with attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The court also confirmed that a reporting restriction is in place to protect the anonymity of the complainant under the relevant UK sexual-offences legislation.
Poco Lee is scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation.
The court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, confirmed the hearing date in official correspondence, stating, “I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026.”
Baker added that the precise time and courtroom information would not be available until the day before the hearing.
The Tuesday, September 15 proceeding will therefore be an important stage in the legal process, but it is not a determination of guilt.
Poco Lee remains legally presumed innocent unless and until a court determines otherwise.
The management reinforced that position in its statement, saying, “Every individual is entitled to a fair hearing and to have their matter determined by due process of law, not by public opinion.”
“We respectfully request that this right be respected in this instance, as it would be for anyone else,” the team added.
The controversy surrounding the dancer intensified after reports emerged in August that he had been detained in the United Kingdom in connection with allegations of sexual offences.
Poco Lee had been in the United Kingdom for the Davido and Friends event held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on Friday, August 14, 2026, before reports of his detention began circulating several days later.
The development subsequently generated widespread reactions among Nigerians and members of the entertainment industry, with different accounts of the allegations circulating online.
A separate sexual-assault allegation involving a Texas-based Nigerian rapper, identified as Jorji, has also circulated in connection with the wider controversy.
However, no verified evidence has established that the separate allegation is connected to the criminal proceedings currently before Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Poco Lee’s management has consequently urged the public to distinguish between allegations circulating online and matters formally before the court.
The team said further information would be provided through its official channels when appropriate and appealed for patience and restraint as the proceedings continue.
The management’s latest statement has therefore sought to narrow the public discussion to verified facts, particularly the charges formally before the UK court, while rejecting the drink-spiking narrative as part of those charges.
With the next court appearance fixed for Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the outcome of the proceedings remains pending, and no finding of guilt has been made against Poco Lee.
