Police Condemns Assault on Ahoada-East Administrator, Summons Alleged Perpetrators for Questioning

The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the assault on the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Goodluck Iheanachor, and summoned the alleged perpetrators of the act for questioning.

A statement on Friday, June 20, 2025, by the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP), revealed that at about 1:30pm, thirty men suspected to be hoodlums, led by the Administrator’s Chief Security Officer, Hector Ekeakita, and Chief of Staff stormed the Council Secretariat and attacked him.

The suspected hoodlums assaulted the Administrator, snatched his mobile sets, coerced him to write a letter purporting his resignation, as well as stole some vital documents from his office.






The statement stated that the Administrator is currently receiving medical attention due to the injuries inflicted on him at an undisclosed medical facility.
Iringe-Koko said that the Rivers State Police Command unequivocally condemns the assault and has taken drastic measures to bring these hoodlums to face the extent of the law.
According to the statement, the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, who alongside heads of other security agencies, after visiting the scene, demanded that all those involved in the act should report to the State Police Command Headquarters, along Moscow Road for interrogation. The Commissioner further noted the Commands resolution to bring Justice to the fire, assuring it is unwavering commitment to ensuring peace and stability, while encouraging residents to remain law abiding and cooperating.
