PORT HARCOURT REFINERY RESUMES PRODUCTION AFTER A SIX YEARS DORMANT STATE.

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited commenced the processing of crude oil from Alesa Eleme port Harcourt refinery on Tuesday ,November 26,2024.
NNPCL stated that this commencement in Rivers state ends an era of energy independence in the country. Trucks where seen loading petroleum products like premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas oil (AGO) and Household kerosene (HHR) and other products were dispatched from the refinery.

The Group Chief Executive officer of NNPCL,Mele Kyari speaking at the ceremony stated the event signifies a new era of energy Independence and economic growth for the country and a monumental achievement for Nigeria.
Kyari expressed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his support towards the project and for persistent to ensuring energy restoration for the country.

The GCEO again thanked the NNPC Ltd board of Directors and staff for their unwavering support and commitment that bathed the refinery.
He thanked Nigerians for their patience and hope for them to deliver on the other refineries that will not be an exception.
Chief Executive of the Nigeria Midstream and downstream petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) Farouk Ahmed appauleded the NNPCL for the milestone ,assured of his agency continued Support towards the Completion of rehabilitation work at other refineries
