A resident of Ushafa Community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been shot dead and his family kidnapped.
The incident which occurred on Thursday, August 29, 2024, did not shock the Ushafa community as similar events have happened in the past without any arrests being made.

The victim of the attack, who was identified as Felix Chucks, was described as an upstanding member of the community.
Eyewitnesses reported that neither the vigilante team nor the Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, could be reached.
It could not also be established why the victim was murdered, but locals suspect that the victim might have been involved in a struggle with the suspected bandits.
“The bandits came to the area around midnight when everyone was asleep. It looks like the man was not cooperating with them, which is why they killed him”
Note that Ushafa is known for its history of violence. In a recent incident, bandits stormed the community, murdering a man and abducting his pregnant wife and children.
Meanwhile, an enlarged Ushafa community has been called to address the current incident.
