Commuters in Okrika and Ogu/Bolo Local Government Areas have expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker representing Okrika/Ogu/Bolo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Allison Anderson assuaging their plight by providing free transport for all sea routes in both LGAs.

Some of them who spoke with Kristina Reports on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in Okrika, described the gesture as a way of showing his humaneness and expression of love during the New Year celebration.

Speaking, Charity Peacemaker appreciated the efforts of the lawmaker while encouraging him to also look out for those on the Island and Mainland in Okrika LGA.
Peacemaker stressed that the shortest distance is about N300 but Anderson has ensured that no one pays for boat fares during the Yuletide season, calling on him to also provide free bikes during the season.
“I had to trek from island to my house in mainland. The amount for transport is outrageous and these motorcyclists are not ready to exploit us.”
“One even told me that this is the season. Please they should look into our situation.”
In another chat with Kristina Reports, Jennifer Peter applauded Anderson while bringing the plight of the island residents to the fore.

“It’s a good one but people that are staying in island are suffering. The amount charged for bike within the shortest distance is alarming so subsequently, they should also consider those residents at the island.”
