The bill was presented by Governor Siminalayi Fubara. It totals ₦1,854,248,734,475.76, which is approximately ₦1.85 trillion, representing a 24.5% increase over the revised estimates for 2025.

The passage followed committee reviews, deliberations and extensive legislative scrutiny by lawmakers.

With the approval in place, the Rivers State Government is expected to move ahead with key development projects across the state. Major focus areas include infrastructure and other capital investments.

However, the Assembly raised concerns over the ₦6 billion allocation to PAMO University. The lawmakers rejected that aspect pending further explanation from relevant authorities.

The government will now proceed with implementing the rest of the budget as clarification is sought on the university allocation.
