Road Opening, A Worthy Birthday Gift to Bonny People, Others – Stakeholder Lauds LG Chairman on Bodo-Bonny Road

A political stakeholder in Rivers State, Lawrence Pepple has applauded the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Abinye Pepple for working assiduously to ensure the temporary opening of the Bodo-Bonny Road ahead of his 48th birthday.   

In a statement on Monday, December 9, 2025 he personally signed and made exclusively available to Kristina Reports, Pepple said his pragmatic approach to governance since assuming office was already yielding dividends.

He also called on the Bonny LGA Chairman, who he referred to as “Prosperity Chairman” to not rest on his oars as his term in office has historical significance given the epochal milestones being achieved by Bonny Kingdom during this period.

“I call Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, the Prosperity Chairman to take note of the following historical milestone events that would happen to Bonny Island during your Administration.”

“First is that the $10 billion NLNG Train 7 Expansion project would be completed and commissioned during your time in office.””

“Second is that for the first time, cars and other vehicles will officially drive from Port Harcourt to Bonny when the $120 million, 37.9 Kilometres Bonny – Bodo Road project is completed and formally commissioned.”

“Then, third is that the first Fire Service Station owned by a Local Government in Nigeria would commence operation, just to mention a few.”  

He commended him for bringing his visionary leadership, development acumen and political sagacity to bear in driving change in the LGA since coming to power, urging him to continue prioritizing the interest of the people of Bonny.

He added that with the opening of the Bodo-Bonny Road, though temporarily, not only has his administration provided alternative traveling route for residents and visitors to Bonny but has set the pace an economic upturn that would have far-reaching positive impact on the local economy.
