Nigeria got a commanding 10-point victory(68-58) against Argentina yesterday, July 18, 2025, in the 9-15 Classification Games at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup. Wandoo Hembam and Nora Ezike combined for 34 points.

The Junior D’Tigress who are out of title and podium contention, fought hard to end a three-game losing streak and advance to the 9-12 seeding games where they will face South Korea today, July 19, 2025, at 3pm.

South Korea defeated Brazil 87-80 in what was a tightly contested affair reeling with 3-pointers, to grab their first victory in the tournament. The win was paced by a brilliant 28-point haul from Minji Lee, while Hyun Jeong starred with 19 points and 8 assists.

Although a well-rounded team, South Korea’s Hyun Jeong is the player to watch. She leads her side in points shooting 12.4%, rebounds grabbing 5.2% and assists making 3.2% per game. She is 41.2% from the 3-point line and 83.3% from the free throw line.
