Welders, Fitters Shut Down NLNG Train 7 Site, Demand Tax Receipts, TIN

The train 7 project site of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) was shut down early morning Tuesday, September 16, 2025 by irate workers believed to welders and fitters.
Kristina Reports reliably learn that the workers are demanding to be issued their tax receipts and tax identification number (TIN) codes.

Videos available to Kristina Reports show the workers believed to be welders and fitters picketing the administrative building of the SCD JV (Saipem, Chiyoda and Daewoo Joint Venture).
Unconfirmed reports have it that a yet-to-be identified security personnel was injured for allegedly trying to block the peaceful protest of the welders and fitters.
Anonymous source also disclosed to Kristina Reports that some sectional heads were sneaked out of the work site with busses and vans to protect them from the irate workers.
A highly placed official of the SCD JV, who preferred anonymity confirmed the development to Kristina Reports, explaining that it was a peaceful protest wherein the workers are demand for tax receipts and TIN code
When contacted, the spokesman of the SCD JV, Sotonye Ibiama declined comments, saying that the Joint Venture was still interfacing with representatives of the welders and fitters with a view to resolving the situation.
On its part, the project owner, NLNG did not respond to enquiries from Kristina Reports, same with the Chairman of the Ibani Welders Association, Adawari Jumbo.
