29th Coronation Anniversary: MWUN Chairman Celebrates King Perekule XI; Salutes Reign of Unity, Maritime Pride

The Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Rivers Commercial District, Amasenibo Israel Waribo Pepple, has congratulated the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Grand Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, JP, DSSRS, Perekule XI, on the occasion of his 29th Coronation Anniversary.

In a goodwill message, Amasenibo Pepple described the milestone as “a celebration of steadfast kingship and purposeful leadership”, noting that the 29-year reign of the Amanyanabo stands as a symbol of stability, unity, and progressive traditional authority.

He said the Monarch’s leadership style, development orientation and astute wisdom has continued to inspire pride within the ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom and beyond.

The MWUN Chairman noted that His Majesty’s leadership has remained firm and dignified, providing a peaceful environment where commerce, culture, and community life can thrive, particularly within Bonny’s strategic maritime space.

“We honour His Majesty’s 29 years on the throne, celebrating a reign that continues to inspire unity, prosperity, and pride across the Kingdom,” the message stated.

He commended the King for his consistent role as a bridge between tradition and modern development, stressing that such leadership has strengthened Bonny’s relevance as a historic and economic hub in the Niger Delta.

The MWUN Chairman also felicitated with Queen of Grand Bonny Kingdom, Her Royal Highness, Queen Paula Tamunoipirinye William Dappa Pepple, and Crown Prince, His Highness, William Dappa Pepple, describing the Royal Family as custodians of heritage, continuity, and hope for future generations.

According to him, the convergence of the Coronation Anniversary with other royal celebrations reflects the enduring strength of the Bonny monarchy and the grace with which it has been upheld.

Amasenibo Israel Waribo Pepple reaffirmed the respect and goodwill of maritime workers to the throne, praying for long life, sound health, and renewed wisdom for His Majesty as he continues to lead the Kingdom.

The MWUN Chairman, who is also a Warisenibo of the Fubara Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House, concluded by wishing the Grand Bonny Kingdom sustained peace and prosperity under the reign of King Edward I.
