Ahmed Musa Leads Kano Pillars to Crucial NPFL Win
After a cagey first half that ended without goals, it was Ahmed Musa who broke the deadlock 27 minutes into the second half.
The 33-year-old showed calm and quality to find the net, a moment that ultimately decided the contest and lifted the home crowd.
The goal marked Musa’s fourth of the season in the NPFL, keeping him firmly among Kano Pillars’ key contributors.
Kano Pillars Boost Survival Hopes with Musa’s Strike
The narrow victory ended a difficult run for Kano Pillars, who had suffered back-to-back defeats against Abia Warriors and Wikki Tourists.
With this result, they move temporarily from 20th to 18th on the league table, now on 25 points from 23 matches.
For Ahmed Musa and his teammates, they will now look to build on this momentum when they travel to face Enugu Rangers on Sunday.
Other NPFL Results
Elsewhere in the NPFL, Abia Warriors were held to a 1–1 draw at home by Wikki Tourists.

After a goalless first half, Emeka Obioma opened the scoring shortly after the restart, but Abubakar Taheer equalised minutes later to ensure both sides shared the points.
Former champions Enyimba also played out a 1–1 draw with Nasarawa United. Jofrank Istifanus gave the hosts the lead in the second half before Kalu Nweke struck back to restore parity.

Enugu Rangers, however, fell to a 2–1 defeat against Plateau United. Vincent Temitope scored twice for the visitors, including a first-half penalty, while Chidiebere Nwobodo netted Rangers’ lone goal.
