Super Eagles striker Akor Adams made a decisive return to La Liga on Monday night, scoring twice to rescue a 2-2 draw for his team Sevilla against Elche at the Manuel Martínez Valero Stadium.

Introduced at the start of the second half, Adams changed the rhythm of the game and dragged Sevilla back from the brink of defeat with a calm and confident display in attack.
Akor Adams sparks Sevilla comeback off the bench
Sevilla were struggling for momentum before Adams replaced Gerard Fernández after the break.
The Nigerian forward quickly became the focal point of the attack, pressing defenders and stretching Elche’s back line.
His first breakthrough came in the 75th minute when he showed composure inside the box, slotting past goalkeeper Iñaki Peña to reduce the deficit. The goal lifted Sevilla and shifted the pressure firmly onto the hosts.
Akor delivers late drama after AFCON heroics
Deep into stoppage time, Akor stepped up again. The Nigerian international kept his nerve to smash a penalty into the roof of the net in the second minute of added time, sealing his brace and completing Sevilla’s comeback.

The goals take his tally to five goals and two assists in 15 La Liga appearances this season.
His form mirrors his recent success with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored twice and added two assists in seven matches.
Adams played a key role as the Super Eagles claimed the bronze medal, edging Egypt 4-2 on penalties after a goalless third-place playoff.
And thanks to him, this draw moves Sevilla further away from the drop zone as they continue their push for league stability after 20 matches, with Akor gradually emerging as a vital figure in their survival bid.
