Alex Iwobi once again proved decisive as Fulham secured a vital 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Nigerian midfielder capped an influential display with a goal that sealed the win and deepened Spurs’ ongoing Premier League struggles.
Alex Iwobi inspires Fulham win over Tottenham
Iwobi was at the heart of everything positive for Fulham. The 29-year-old midfielder scored his side’s second goal and created a match-high four chances in a commanding all-round performance.
Fulham made a bright start and were rewarded when Harry Wilson volleyed home after a deflected pass dropped kindly inside the box. Tottenham protested for a foul in the buildup, but VAR upheld the decision and the goal stood.
Iwobi then took centre stage before halftime. After combining neatly with Wilson, he curled a precise effort in off the far post to double Fulham’s lead.
It was his fourth league goal of the season and his seventh overall goal contribution, having also provided three assists.
The Super Eagles star has now scored in back-to-back matches, following his goal and assist in the 3-1 win over Sunderland in Fulham’s previous outing.
Compatriot Calvin Bassey delivered a composed defensive display, while Samuel Chukwueze came off the bench late on to help see out the result.
Tottenham match unwanted Premier League record
Tottenham’s defeat saw them equal an unwanted club record of 10 consecutive Premier League matches without a win.
The loss piles further pressure on interim boss Igor Tudor, whose side were beaten 4-1 by Arsenal in his first game in charge.
Spurs have now conceded at least twice in eight straight league games, underlining their defensive issues.

They briefly threatened a comeback after the break when substitute Richarlison headed home from close range, but the momentum did not last.
Emile Smith Rowe had earlier tested the Tottenham defence as Fulham pushed for a third, yet the hosts remained composed in the closing stages to secure all three points.
The result lifts Fulham to ninth place in the Premier League table, completing a league double over Tottenham this season.
Spurs, meanwhile, sit just four points above the relegation zone, with pressure mounting as the campaign enters a crucial phase.
