Army Chief Charges New Soldiers to Take Fight to Terrorists, Criminals

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu has charged newly trained soldiers of the 90 Regular Recruits who officially passed out in Zaria, Kaduna State to intensify the onslaught against terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminality across the country.

Speaking at the Passing Out Parade held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Depot Nigerian Army, Lt. Gen. Shaibu urged the fresh recruits to carry out their duties with firmness, professionalism, and strict adherence to human rights while engaging enemies of the state.

He noted that having completed rigorous training, including specialized instruction in Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Insurgency operations, the soldiers were now prepared for deployment to various operational theatres nationwide.

Kristina Reports learnt that Lieutenant General Shaibu emphasized that the Nigerian Army remains committed to denying terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal groups any safe haven.

He, however, stressed that all military operations must be conducted in line with the Rules of Engagement and the Law of Armed Conflict.

He also highlighted the continued support of the President, Bola Tinubu, in strengthening the operational capacity of the Armed Forces.

He noted that Nigerians expect the newly inducted soldiers to demonstrate discipline, courage, loyalty, and operational excellence in the discharge of their duties.

The Army Chief further cautioned the soldiers against the misuse of social media, warning that unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information and unprofessional conduct online could compromise national security and military operations.

Residents and stakeholders at the event were assured of the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the country, as the newly graduated soldiers prepare to join ongoing offensives aimed at restoring peace, stability, and security nationwide.

The Passing Out Parade marked the successful completion of military training for the recruits and their formal induction into active service in the Nigerian Army.
