The Nigerian forward played a key role in her side’s only goal, but the result was firmly decided by a dominant visiting performance.

Asisat Oshoala reaches 20 contributions in tough Al Hilal defeat

Asisat Oshoala continued her impressive season by providing the assist for Al Hilal’s lone goal of the match. Her contribution briefly lifted the home side after the break, but it proved to be only a consolation.

The 31-year-old has now recorded three assists in the league this season, taking her overall tally to 20 goal contributions across all competitions.

That includes 16 goals—nine in the league, six in the Saudi Women’s Challenge Cup, and one in the Saudi Women’s Cup—highlighting her consistent impact in front of goal.

Despite the defeat, Oshoala remains one of the standout performers in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, proving her importance to Al Hilal’s attacking play.

Al Nassr set the tone early in the match, taking the lead inside eight minutes through a well-taken penalty from Duda.

The visitors quickly built on that advantage, with Clara Luvanga doubling the lead in the 16th minute after a precise assist from Nesrine Bahlouli.

Any hopes of a comeback faded shortly after halftime. Luvanga struck again in the 48th minute, once more assisted by Bahlouli, before Oshoala created a brief moment of hope by setting up Ghizlane Chebbak to pull one back.

However, the momentum did not last. Al Hilal’s task became even harder when Kheira Hamraoui was sent off in the 53rd minute, reducing the hosts to ten players.

Al Nassr took full advantage, with Luvanga completing her hat-trick just two minutes later, again benefiting from Bahlouli’s creativity.

The result marked a commanding display from Al Nassr, with Luvanga finishing clinically and Bahlouli controlling the tempo throughout the game.

Al Hilal now sit fifth in the league standings with 19 points and will aim to respond positively in their next fixture against Al Ula.
