Asisat Oshoala once again took centre stage in Riyadh, scoring twice in a thrilling contest that saw Al Hilal and Al Ahli play out a dramatic 3–3 draw in the Saudi Women’s Premier League on Thursday night.

The Super Falcons star was the standout performer, but her goals were not enough to secure maximum points as Al Hilal were pegged back twice in an open, high-tempo Round 9 encounter at the Inaya Medical Colleges Stadium.

Al Hilal started brightly and made their early dominance count before the half-hour mark. Ghizlane Chebbak broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, setting the tone for what followed.

Just two minutes later, Oshoala struck her first of the night. The Nigerian forward showed her sharp instincts inside the box, finishing calmly from close range after a well-weighted assist by Jéssica Silva.

Al Ahli responded almost immediately. A moment of misfortune saw Nawal Al Gelaish turn the ball into her own net in the 36th minute, pulling one back and shifting momentum.

Oshoala restored Al Hilal’s two-goal cushion shortly before the break, converting confidently from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute to cap an eventful first half that ended 3–2.

The intensity carried into the second period. Al Ahli struck again just four minutes after the restart through Naomie Kabakaba, whose composed finish kept the visitors firmly in the contest.

The equaliser arrived in the 65th minute when Fadwa Khaled found the net following another dangerous move involving Kabakaba, completing Al Ahli’s comeback and silencing the home crowd.

Despite late pressure and chances at both ends, neither side could find a winner, as the match finished level in a pulsating display of attacking football.

The brace takes Asisat Oshoala’s tally for the season to 15 goals across all competitions, including eight in the Saudi Women’s Premier League. She has also added three assists, underlining her influence since joining Al Hilal Women.

Al Hilal remain third on the table with 16 points and will now shift focus to their next league fixture against Neom SC, with Oshoala continuing to lead their title push.
