Warm tributes have continued to pour in for Godswill Jumbo, the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Kristina Reports, marking his birthday alongside another anniversary of the media organisation he superintends over.
Jumbo’s former employers, mentors, family members and associates in their encomiums described him as a resilient journalist, visionary media entrepreneur and committed community advocate.
The goodwill messages, shared on Tuesday, July 22, 2026, celebrated Jumbo’s journey in journalism, public communication and media entrepreneurship, highlighting his contributions to community-based reporting, leadership development and public service.
Among the first to pay tribute was hos former boss and mentor, Honour Sirawoo, currently the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, who recalled Jumbo’s willingness to improve himself professionally.
“Godswill Jumbo is amenable to learning and committed to his beliefs,” Sirawoo said.
Another employer and mentor, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TNN Publishing, owners of TNN Newspaper and Omega Prints, Ofonime Umanah, described Jumbo as one of the media professionals whose determination to grow has remained evident over the years.
“I have known Mr Godswill Jumbo for a long time. One thing you can’t take away from him is his resilience, the desire to learn and keep learning; the desire to get better.”
“He is a jolly good fellow, a team player, a growing young man with so much leadership endowments,” Umanah stated.
On his part, the Regional Manager of BusinessDay Newspapers for the South-South and South-East, Ignatius Chukwu, said Jumbo represents a new generation of journalists capable of advancing the profession with competence and integrity.
“When I see Godswill Jumbo and a few others, I feel grateful to God for making ready those who are taking over from our generation in the journalism profession: forward looking, competent, humane outlook, and transparent. Happy birthday, son,” Chukwu said.
Leadership and public policy expert and former Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Dakuku Peterside, also reflected on his first encounter with Jumbo at the Rivers State Government House, describing him as a disciplined and strategic communicator whose rise in the media industry has come as no surprise.
“I met Godswill at Government House, Port Harcourt, where he stood out as a strategic communicator par excellence. It did not take long for us to bond.
“My earliest impression was simple: here was someone disciplined and destined for great things. I’m not surprised by the remarkable strides he has made.
“His honesty, determination, hard work, and tenacity have consistently opened doors for him, and I believe this is only the beginning, greater heights await.

Former General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Celestine Ogolo, praised Jumbo’s dedication to work, humility and commitment to excellence.

In one of the lengthiest goodwill messages, Jumbo’s uncle, Lawrence Pepple, reflected on his professional journey, describing him as a strategic communications expert whose impact extends beyond journalism into community development and public service.
Pepple, a former Executive Director of the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) posited that Jumbo’s more than 18 years experience across media, government communications and public affairs have positioned him as a respected voice in journalism, adding that his service as Chief Press Secretary to former Rivers State Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru, FNSE demonstrated his strategic communication abilities.
He further commended Jumbo’s resilience, trustworthiness and commitment to using Kristina Reports as a platform for amplifying grassroots voices and promoting societal development.
“May the coming year bring new heights of abundant blessings, unprecedented growth, visible achievements, sound health, and renewed hope in God and His Grace to continue impacting lives and shaping public discourse, particularly in Bonny media space.
