Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has named Burna Boy as her top choice for a musical collaboration.
The announcement came on Thursday, January 29, 2026, during a Billboard interview.

Starr, born Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, said Burna Boy’s style aligns with her artistic direction.
She stated, “Everybody knows Burna Boy is like my number one person I want to collaborate with.”
Starr added that she has worked with several artists but seeks to expand her collaborations.
Her remarks follow the release of “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid on April 25, 2025.
The song earned her a second Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.
The 2026 Grammy nominees were announced in November 2025, ahead of the awards on February 1, 2026.
Starr described the nomination as exciting and confidence-boosting for her career.
She revealed that “Gimme Dat” was produced in a studio once used by Wyclef Jean.
The track sampled Wyclef Jean’s collaboration with Mary J. Blige, which Starr found meaningful.
She is working on a new album project in 2026 to broaden her musical influence.
Despite international acclaim, Burna Boy remains her foremost collaboration choice.
Fans and industry watchers are excited about the potential collaboration between the two Afrobeats stars.
