Bonny Kingdom’s environmental watchdog, the Bonny Environment Consultants Committee (BECC) has congratulated Amairigha Edward Hart on his appointment as a Commissioner in the Rivers State Government.
Hart was inaugurated into office by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, alongside four others on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, after they were screened and confirmed by the Rivers State House of Assembly as members of the State Executive Council.

In a statement on Thursday, March 12, 2026 signed by its Chairman, Professor Ibitoru Hart, the Committee described the appointment as a positive development for Bonny Kingdom and Rivers State.
“Your appointment is a source of pride to many in Bonny Kingdom who have followed your dedication to community advancement, responsible leadership and environmental activism,” the committee said.
The group noted that Hart’s “emergence comes at a time when Rivers State requires experienced voices in governance, respected figures at the grassroots, and strategic elements in the business sector such as Amaopusenibo Amairigha Edward Hart”.
“We believe your presence in the Rivers State Executive Council will strengthen efforts toward sustainable development and improved engagement between government and host communities,” the statement added.

The Committee further expressed hope that his tenure would promote policies that support environmental responsibility and community welfare.
“As stakeholders in environmental advocacy and community development, we look forward to a tenure that will encourage policies that protect our environment and advance the wellbeing of our people,” BECC stated.
The Committee wished the new commissioner success and prayed for wisdom as he undertakes the responsibility of public service.
