Bonny Boat Regatta Secures Spot in Naija Season 2026

The Bonny Kingdom Boat Regatta has received a major national recognition with its confirmed inclusion in Naija Season 2026.
The confirmation was announced by the National Council for Arts and Culture, NCAC.

The development places the Bonny Boat Regatta on Nigeria’s national cultural platform scheduled to launch next year.
The announcement was made at the 3rd edition of the Bonny Boat Regatta festival.
NCAC Director General, Obi Asika, formally confirmed the inclusion.

Asika described Bonny Kingdom as “Nigeria’s Cultural Gateway to the Atlantic.”
He highlighted the kingdom’s rich maritime heritage as a key reason for the recognition.
According to him, the Bonny Boat Regatta has grown into a flagship cultural event in the country.
He noted that the regatta plays a major role in showcasing Nigeria’s coastal culture.




The event was also identified as a platform driving creative economic growth.
Naija Season 2026 is a national cultural initiative designed to spotlight Nigeria’s diverse cultural expressions.
The inclusion is expected to strengthen the visibility of Bonny Kingdom’s heritage on a national scale.

The Bonny Boat Regatta combines traditional boat displays, art, tourism, and community participation.
The recognition further positions Bonny Kingdom as a key contributor to cultural tourism in Nigeria.
The development marks a significant milestone for the preservation and promotion of coastal heritage.
