The annual Peace and Sustainable Development Seminar being organized by the Bonny Youth Federation is set to kick today at the Bonny Youth Federation Auditorium, King Perekule Bye-Pass, Bonny, by 9:00am.
The 3rd edition of the One-Day Seminar with the theme: “Mindset-Shift and Critical Conversation for Sustainable Peace and Development,” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

According to the organizers, the Seminar’s theme reflects the BYF’s commitment to promoting behavioural transformation, community dialogue, and long-term stability in Bonny Kingdom.
In a statement announcing the event, the leadership of the Federation said the seminar is designed to engage youths, corporate bodies, opinion leaders, stakeholders, and the general public.
“The future of our community depends on how we think, how we communicate, and how we work together for peace,” the Council noted.
“This seminar is an opportunity to address issues that affect us collectively and to chart progressive pathways that will benefit all residents of Bonny.”
His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Edward I, CON, DSSRS, JP, the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of the Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom, is among the distinguished guests whose presence underscores the importance of the programme.
Also expected is the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Abinye Pepple, who will support discussions around youth involvement, leadership inclusion, and grassroots development initiatives.

The keynote speaker for the event is the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Denovvia Consulting Ltd, Adewole Oriade, while the host is the Leader of the BYF, Anthony Banigo.

Speaking ahead of the programme, Oriade noted that peacebuilding begins with internal transformation.
“Our actions are products of our mindset. When we shift the way we think, we shift the direction of our community.”
The organisers explained that the seminar will feature open sessions, strategic conversations, and interactive engagements aimed at fostering unity and encouraging young people to take ownership of the development process.

The statement added, “This annual gathering has become a platform for rethinking societal values, strengthening youth participation, and promoting shared responsibility for peace.”
The Federation reaffirmed that sustaining peace and development in Bonny requires collaboration from all sectors.
“We invite every stakeholder to join in this conversation. Peace is not the duty of one person but a collective commitment.”
The Annual Peace Seminar remains one of the Federation’s flagship programmes, focused on shaping a progressive, informed, and development-driven youth community that can contribute meaningfully to the future of Bonny Kingdom.
