The 12 passengers traveling from Bille Community and six passengers traveling to Bonny Island have been rescued from their kidnappers by the Royal Fouche Security Services, popularly known as Amama Soldiers.
The Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I, disclosed this on Monday, May 26, 2025 at his palace in Elem Kalabari in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In a video which is trending online, the Monarch disclosed that he deployed his Amama Soldiers upon a request from the State Director of Security (SDS) for his assistance in rescuing the kidnap victims.
The SDS is the head of the Department of State Security (DSS) in a State.
He stated that one of the victims, who paid N10 million as ransom for his release, assisted his men in locating the kidnappers’ den and rescuing the victims unhurt.
The hoodlums fled upon sighting operatives of the Royal Fouche Security Services. One of them, however, was apprehended and brought back to the palace in Elem Kalabari.
The 19 passengers – 13 of them traveling from Bille to Port Harcourt and six traveling from Port Harcourt to Bonny – were whisked away by daredevil hoodlums at Isaka in Okrika LGA about three weeks ago.
The Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri condemned the act of kidnapping, referring to it as “stealing of your fellow human beings and transacting business with them”.
He stated that due process would be followed in dealing with the arrested kidnap suspect.
When interrogated the kidnap suspect said the leader of their team fled the scene upon sighting the Amama Soldiers, explaining that he was sleeping when the rescue operation took place, adding that he was not part of the kidnap operation.
The State Police Command was yet to make a statement on the rescue of the kidnap victims as at the time of this report.
