BUC Announces 8 Days System Shutdown Due to Maintenance, Urges Proactive Electricity Purchase

The Bonny Utility Company (BUC) says its electricity vending system will be shutdown from Tuesday to Wednesday, July 15 to 23, 2025 due to routine maintenance, calling on residents of Bonny Local Government Area to purchase electricity upfront before that date.

The BUC in a memo signed by its General Manager, Dominic Dung on Saturday, July 12, 2025 in Bonny, Rivers State said Conlog Solutions for Utilities, which manages its electricity vending system, will carry out the maintenance process.

“This memo is to inform the public of Bonny about System Maintenance by Conlog Solutions for Utilities. This service disruption is necessary to enable maintenance and upgrades to our vending system.”

“During the maintenance work the Bonny Utility Company (BUC) electricity vending system shall be affected thereby disrupting BUC Front Desk customer services activities to our customers. BUC is being managed by Conlog Solutions for utilities.”  

“The proposed maintenance activities by Conlog solutions for utilities shall temporally impend BUC from vending electricity for customers for the period it shall last.”  

“BUC management hereby advice all our customers in both Bonny main town and Finima Community to utilize the short period left and purchase electricity token in order not to run out of light.”  

“The effective date for the maintenance and upgrade is: “From Tuesday, July 15, 2025 to Wednesday, July 23 2025. The Residents and business owners in Bonny Kingdom are hereby by this informed and advised to do necessary purchases of electricity token and recharge their prepaid meters by Monday the 14th of July in order not to be affected during this period of one week maintenance.”

“However; BUC offices shall be open to our customers during the maintenance period for other services including complaint resolutions.”
