Nigerian youngsters Daniel Job and Tochukwu Joseph experienced contrasting fortunes over the weekend in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen, with one celebrating a dominant victory and the other tasting defeat in a high-scoring match.
Daniel Job Inspires Kongsvinger to Away Victory
Forward Daniel Job continued his brilliant start to the season by helping Kongsvinger secure a crucial 3-0 away win against Lyn at the Bislett Stadion.
The 20-year-old attacker turned provider this time, setting up his team’s second goal of the match.
Job, who played for 85 minutes before being substituted, is currently Kongsvinger’s top scorer with five goals in seven league appearances.
Kongsvinger took control early in the game when Vetle Lysell scored after just five minutes.
Ten minutes later, Job delivered a fine assist for Mads Sande to double the lead.
Rasmus Opdal Christiansen sealed the emphatic 3-0 win in the 72nd minute, keeping Kongsvinger unbeaten and at the top of the table.
Mixed Fortunes for Joseph With Strømmen
Meanwhile, 19-year-old defender Tochukwu Joseph enjoyed a personal milestone but suffered team heartbreak as Strømmen fell to a 4-2 defeat against Bryne.
Playing in his fourth match of the season, the young centre-back recorded his first goal contribution of the campaign by setting up his team’s equalizer in the first half.
Alfred Scriven initially put Bryne ahead in the 33rd minute, but Strømmen responded quickly when Joseph assisted Luka Fajfric six minutes later.
Bryne regained the lead just before the break through Dadi Dodou Gaye and extended it via Nicklas Strunck.
Although Nikolai Jakobsen Hristov pulled one back for Strømmen late on, Strunck scored again in stoppage time to condemn Joseph’s side to a painful defeat.
