Nigerian centre-forward David Ankeye has completed a permanent transfer from Italian Serie A club Genoa to Serbian SuperLiga side FK Železničar Pančevo.
The 24-year-old striker committed his long-term future to the Serbian outfit by signing a three-year contract that runs until June 2029.

The deal is reportedly worth €500,000 (approximately ₦800 million), officially bringing Ankeye’s two-and-a-half-year spell with Genoa to an end.
The former Sidos FC striker made 11 senior appearances for the Italian club, including 10 in Serie A, while also gaining valuable European experience during loan spells at Rapid București, Virtus Entella, and Krasava ENY Ypsonas.
Speaking to the media after sealing the move, the Nigerian forward expressed his excitement about the new chapter and his determination to hit the ground running in Serbia.
“I am happy to be here. I can’t wait to meet you and I’m ready to give my best for this team and this crest. I want to be the best version of myself in this club, to help the team progress and through that to take the next step in my career,” Ankeye stated.

The highly-rated attacker, who is a product of the renowned Sidos FC academy—the same setup that produced former Golden Eaglets star Akinkunmi Amoo—has previously featured for clubs like Hammarby, Hammam Sousse, and Jimmy Football Academy.
Ready to spearhead the attack for FK Železničar Pančevo, Ankeye gave the fans a glimpse of what to expect from his style of play.
“I would describe myself as a fast player, aggressive on the field and as a striker who scores goals. My favorite player is Samuel Eto’o,” he added.
