Davido Features Chioma in ‘Already Falling’ Video, Recreates Proposal

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has featured his wife, Chioma Adeleke, in the official music video for his love song, ‘Already Falling’, recreating a proposal scene that highlights their relationship.

The video, released on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, was directed by Meji Alabi, who also directed Davido’s 2018 hit, ‘Assurance’, dedicated to Chioma when they were dating.

Davido announced the release on social media with the caption, “Already Falling. From us to you. Enjoy.”

The cinematic production blends European château scenery with Nigerian cultural elements, following the couple through romantic scenes before reaching its climax beside a lake at dusk.

In the closing sequence, Davido goes down on one knee and opens a red ring box in front of Chioma, recreating the symbolism of a marriage proposal.

The scene is a visual representation of their commitment rather than a new engagement announcement, as the couple are already married.

The video opens with Davido arriving at a French château in a horse-drawn carriage before moving through the estate, where dancers, elaborate costumes and grand interiors establish its romantic setting.

Chioma appears in a gold-and-black gown, while other scenes show the couple in a red convertible and at a gathering featuring Martell cognac.

The closing scene presents the couple in traditional-inspired attire, posed like a portrait of a Black royal couple featured earlier in the production.

‘Already Falling’ is the eighth track on Davido’s sixth studio album, Oriadé, released on Friday, July 31, 2026.

The Afrobeats song blends English, Yoruba and Nigerian Pidgin in a declaration of affection and commitment, with lyrics that include the expressions “my sugar banana, honey bunny” and repeated declarations of falling in love.

The song also incorporates elements of Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, including a reference to the familiar theme of wise men and fools rushing into love.

Davido has described ‘Already Falling’ as a second part of ‘Assurance’, extending his tradition of celebrating his relationship with Chioma through music and visual storytelling.

The couple previously appeared together in ‘Assurance’, while Chioma also featured in the wedding-themed video for Davido’s ‘1 Milli’, released in March 2020.

Classic and Sensei produced ‘Already Falling’, with singer Peruzzi contributing background vocals.

The credited writers include Davido, Peruzzi, Classic and Sensei, alongside writers associated with the Elvis Presley-linked composition.

The song reached number nine on the Official UK Afrobeats Songs Chart, according to its published chart history.

It first entered the chart on Saturday, August 29, 2026, and spent eight weeks on the chart through Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The release also continues the visual rollout for Oriadé and Davido’s association with Martell.

Chioma’s appearance has attracted positive reactions from fans, with some praising the couple’s on-screen chemistry.

One social media user, @nommys_, commented, “No one would have fit into this role better!!!”

Another commenter, @iam_ewawealth07, wrote, “One thing is sure and clear,,, He love her.”

“He didn’t just settle for her.”

The new video revisits a relationship that has featured prominently in Davido’s music for years, connecting the romantic themes of ‘Assurance’ with a new portrayal of the couple as husband and wife.
