Residents of Ntamoku Ayambo Pipeline Estate in Bonny, Rivers State on Friday, February 20, 2026 chased away some representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) and its subsidiary, NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) who allegedly defied a court order to visit the area.
Justice Rita Oguguo of the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had on Friday, February 13, 2026 issued an exparte order in Suit No.: BYHC/17/CS/2026, restraining Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, NNPC Exploration and Production Company Limited (NEPL), WAGL Energy Limited, and Kristal Polis Limited from any further activities in the area.

The judge gave the order after hearing the submission of Chief Eugene Odey, the counsel to the residents of the Ntamoku Ayambo Pipeline Estate, who are claimants in the Suit, stopping the companies from continuing with demolitions in the Ntamoku Ayambo Pipeline Estate.
Strangely, in a move, which has been deemed a clear disregard for judicial authority, representatives of the companies led by the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) of NNPC Limited, Romeo Waribo, visited the area to inspect the extent of demolitions only to scamper away when the residents reportedly massed up to confront them.
In the light of the development, the Ntamoku Ayambo Pipeline Estate residents have declared that any attempt by NNPC Limited or any of its subsidiaries or partners to illegally dispossess them of their properties will be forcefully resisted.
The residents, who spoke with Kristina Reports on Friday, February 20, 2026, warned that land grabbing by intimidation cannot work in the area.
“When they came, we had to mobilize our people to go and confront them but curiously we couldn’t find them because they have run away. Why are they running away?”, one of the residents who only identified himself as Francis queried.
Another resident, Fubby stated that the visit by the company’s representatives was an affront to the Court which had ordered an abeyance in any activities in the area until the case is determined, wondering why “a company established by law will be acting in a lawless manner?”
He advised NNPC Limited, NEPL and their co-travellers to avoid the area, stressing that “we know that some of our Bonny brothers are traitors who for a pot of porridge would do anything, no matter how disgraceful or ignominious, but no amount of intimidation or land grabbing tactics would work here”.
Chairman of the Ntamoku Ayambo Pipeline Estate was unavailable for comments when Kristina Reports visited the area.
In what turned out to be an averted confrontation, the residents of the area upon learning of the visit by the company representatives mobilized to meet them only for the visitors to scamper into their vehicles, a white Toyota Hummer bus and two Toyota Hilux vans with registration plate numbers: RSH-746DQ, BER-129LN and BNY-871 AA, and drive away.
