The Bua-Bangha Kingdom in Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State has been plunged into mourning following the killing of its Youth President, Barizaasi, weeks after an assassination attempt on the Gbenemene of Kingdom, HRM Suanu Timothy Yormaadam Baridam.
Recall that the tragic development occurred on February 13, 2026, after King Baridam survived similar attack by unidentified assailants on January 25, 2026, an incident that had already heightened security concerns within Bangha Kingdom.

Reacting to the killing, the monarch condemned the act and described the loss as painful to the entire Bangha populace.
He extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and the youth community.
“My heartfelt condolences goes to the entire Bangha populace on the loss of our dear Youth President Zaazi. May God give us the fortitude of mind at this moment of loss,” the monarch stated.
“Let this not make us weaker but rather we should be more concerted in fighting against these primitive acts against us as a people.”
“Bangha is known for its peace and strength. Let us show it now,” he added.
In response to the growing insecurity, the monarch announced immediate measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property.
He imposed a total curfew on motorcycle movement within and around Bangha communities from 7pm to 6am daily.
He also directed that no visitor be allowed to lodge in any Bangha community without proper clearance and identification.
Furthermore, the monarch called on all communities to reactivate and strengthen their vigilante groups, describing them as vital to local intelligence gathering and rapid response.
He emphasized that such groups must operate within the law and collaborate closely with the police and other security agencies, handing over any arrested suspects promptly.
