Defender Evans Ogbonda has completed a major step in his career after sealing a move from Nigeria Premier Football League side Rangers International to Zambian giants Power Dynamos.

The transfer takes the left-back into the CAF Champions League, marking his first club switch outside Nigeria.
Evans Ogbonda Seals CAF Champions League Move
The Port Harcourt-born defender has been one of Rangers International’s most reliable performers this season.
His consistency and calm presence at the back attracted interest from abroad, with Power Dynamos moving quickly to secure his services.
Rangers International confirmed the deal in an official statement, announcing that the transfer is permanent.
The Enugu-based club will also retain 40 percent of any future transfer involving Ogbonda, a sign of their belief in his long-term value.
The 23-year-old left-back joins Power Dynamos as they strengthen their squad for domestic and continental duties in the CAF Champions League.
He will link up with former Shooting Stars defender Ayodeji Bamidele as the Zambian side pushes for success in the 2025/26 season.
Ogbonda’s move is seen as a smart addition by the Zambian champions, who value his mix of youth, experience, and exposure to high-level African competition.
Steady Rise From NPFL to Continental Stage
Before his spell with Rangers International, Evans Ogbonda built his reputation across several NPFL clubs.

He began his senior career with the now-defunct Ifeanyi Ubah in the 2020/21 season before moving on to Akwa United and later Bendel Insurance.
His time at Rangers during the 2024/25 campaign also improved his game and prepared him for the demands of football outside Nigeria.
Beyond domestic football, Ogbonda has equally featured in both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
That experience is expected to help him settle quickly at Power Dynamos, who are keen to rely on players already familiar with the pressures of continental football.
