As the Salah celebration across the nation kicks on, the Popular island market, known as Anyungu biri market women and consumers have a different experience all together as they lament of poor sales today which is very unusual, according to them.

Kristina Reports, on Friday, June 6, 2025, gathered from Iyawere, a Southwestern born woman who deals on fresh pepper, that the situation is pathetic, pointing fingers on the incumbent government.

“I never see this kind thing before, I don dey under sun, nobody come buy something. A whole Salah, nothing dey happen. My market go just spoil because of this sun. Everywhere just dry today”

Another respondent, who simply addressed himself as Orubo said the celebration is not as groovy as it should because of the economy of the country.

“I didn’t expect much celebration today because this economy is not giving. Every thing is expensive, even food to use for the Salah celebration is very expensive.”

In another chat, a Muslim faithful, Abdul Rahman, said he had decided to accept the fate of the nation and live on. Abdul who spoke in pidgin English said the most important thing for him was to pray and thank God, he is not a fanatic of all of those show offs

“My own na to pray, thank God, I no cook anything because food no dey, I dey manage my life. I no even sew better cloth. Later in the evening, I go go mosque go pray, go back house. I no dey for those kind things.”
