The move signals another step in the Portuguese coach’s journey as he returns to club football with a clear objective.

Super Eagles experience fuels Al-Ula FC appointment

Peseiro is best remembered by Nigerian fans for his time with the Super Eagles, a period that ran from May 2022 to March 2024.

During that spell, he guided Nigeria to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, where the team finished as runners-up after an impressive campaign.

Before heading to Saudi Arabia, the former Super Eagles boss was in charge of Egyptian heavyweights Zamalek.

That blend of international and club experience played a key role in Al-Ula FC’s decision to hand him the job.

Al-Ula FC are currently fifth in the Saudi First Division League standings.

With promotion places still within reach, the former coach of the Nigerian national team will be tasked with steering the club toward a possible place in the Saudi Pro League before the season ends.
