The Federal Government, through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has called for applications for its Foreign Master’s Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The NDDC announced the development in a flyer published on its official X handle on Monday, March 23, 2026.

According to the Commission, applications opened on March 23 and will close on April 19, 2026.
The scholarship programme is aimed at equipping young Nigerians from the Niger Delta region with advanced training and skills, enabling them to participate effectively in the local content programme and compete globally in their respective fields.
To be eligible, applicants must possess a First Class or Second Class Upper degree and must be below 40 years of age.
Interested candidates are required to apply online via the NDDC official website at www.nddc.gov.ng.
Applicants must upload key documents including a recent passport photograph, Local Government Identification letter, postgraduate admission letter from a recognised overseas university, relevant degree certificates, and NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
After submission, applicants will receive a registration number and are advised to print their acknowledgment slip for future reference.
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages. It begins with preliminary shortlisting based on WASSCE or NECO results, undergraduate degree classification, and Local Government identification.
Shortlisted candidates will proceed to a computer-based test to be held in Rivers State, where a minimum score of 70 percent is required to advance.
Successful candidates will undergo further screening and final verification through their Local Government Areas and Community Development Committees.
The scholarship is fully funded and will be awarded for study at foreign universities, with funding calculated based on the prevailing naira exchange rate.
Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing states in the Niger Delta region, including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo, and Rivers.
The Commission noted that changes in institution or course deferment will not be permitted, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the computer-based test or interview stages.
The NDDC also emphasized that it reserves the right to make the final decision on all selections.
