Many houses have been razed with five residents killed and several others allegedly abducted following an attack by unknown assailants on Okporojo community in Oso Edda, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Kristina Reports gathered that the attack occurred on Thursday, January 29, 2026, when unidentified armed men stormed the community, shooting sporadically and setting houses ablaze.

Local sources linked the attack to a decades-long land dispute between Oso Edda in Edda Local Government Area and Amasiri in Afikpo Local Government Area of the state. Both communities have laid claim to a disputed boundary land, a disagreement that has over the years resulted in intermittent violence, loss of lives, and destruction of property worth billions of naira.

An eye witness, Okoro Udu who disclosed that the armed men came in with more than 50 AK-47 riffles to attack the community.

” They came in with more than 50 AK-47 riffles, beheading and destroying properties, but we are asking to know who buys this riffles for them”?

He therefore call on government of Ebonyi State to come to their aide.
