The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny, has intensified its commitment to staff development with a TETFund-sponsored training and workshop designed to enhance workforce capacity and improve institutional performance.
The programme is aimed at equipping members of staff with relevant knowledge, practical skills and professional tools to enable them function more effectively in today’s increasingly competitive and technology-driven academic environment.
Speaking at the training, the Rector of the institution, Dr. Victor Okolobah, emphasised the importance of a highly skilled workforce in successfully managing modern tertiary institutions.
Dr. Okolobah noted that the prevailing socio-economic realities demand personnel who are not only professionally competent but also technologically driven and capable of responding effectively to emerging challenges.
He urged participants to take full advantage of the training, stressing that the knowledge and skills acquired should be translated into improved productivity and meaningful contributions to the growth and development of FPOG.
The Rector further challenged staff to demonstrate commitment, innovation and professionalism in their respective responsibilities, with a view to building the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, into an institution of global admiration.
According to him, continuous capacity building remains essential to strengthening the institution’s ability to fulfil its mandate of producing competent, work-ready graduates equipped with the practical knowledge and skills required in the modern economy.
The TETFund-sponsored workshop is part of the polytechnic’s ongoing efforts to promote professional development, institutional excellence and improved service delivery, while positioning FPOG to effectively respond to the evolving demands of modern technical and vocational education.
