Fred Onyedinma’s sharp finish looked set to power Wycombe Wanderers back to winning ways, but Exeter City denied them vital three points.

The Nigerian forward once again showed his eye for goal in League One, only for a late setback to deny his side all three points at St James Park.
Fred Onyedinma strikes again in League One
Onyedinma continues to prove why he is one of Wycombe’s most reliable attacking outlets this season.
The 29-year-old broke the deadlock in the 33rd-round clash, calmly converting after being picked out by Ewan Henderson in the 22nd minute.
It was a moment of quality from the Nigerian forward, who timed his run perfectly before applying a composed finish to give the visitors the advantage.
Wycombe protected that lead for long spells, carrying their slim edge into the break and deep into the second half.
The goal marked Onyedinma’s ninth of the campaign, taking his overall goal contributions to 11, with two assists added to his tally across 30 appearances.
His consistent impact in English League One has been a bright spark in recent weeks.
Exeter’s late response halts Wycombe’s momentum
Despite Wycombe’s control for much of the contest, Exeter refused to fold. Just when it seemed Onyedinma’s effort would be enough, Jayden Wareham struck in stoppage time to level the score at 1-1.
The late equaliser was a bitter blow for the visitors, who had defended resolutely and looked set to bounce back from their recent 3-2 defeat to Reading. Instead, they were forced to settle for a point.
The result leaves Wycombe Wanderers 10th in the League One table with 44 points. With two matches now without a win, the pressure is on to respond when they host Stevenage next.
