Nigerian forward Joy Omewa continued her sensational form in England, scoring the opening goal to help Nottingham Forest Women secure a 2-1 win against Durham Women on Sunday.

The match, held at The City Ground, saw the Super Falcons star continue to earn more play time and try to seal her place as a key player for the club.
Joy Omewa Delivers Again at The City Ground
Omewa wasted no time making her mark, finding the net just 14 minutes into the contest with a composed finish.
This strike marks her third goal of the season in only six appearances since joining from Danish side Fortuna Hjørring.
It is also the second consecutive home game in which she has scored, following her goal against Ipswich Town last weekend.
Forest doubled their lead shortly after through Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah. While Durham’s Lily Agg pulled one back before the break, Omewa’s early contribution proved decisive in a tightly contested match.

Despite picking up a yellow card in the 60th minute and being substituted shortly after, her influence on the game was undeniable.
Super Falcons Forward Powers Forest’s League Rise
The 23-year-old striker has adapted to English football with remarkable speed. Having arrived in the winter transfer window with a reputation for clinical finishing—netting 52 goals during her time in Denmark—she is already living up to the hype.
With this win, Nottingham Forest moved up to 7th place in the standings with 26 points.
The team will now shift their focus to next Sunday’s away fixture against Newcastle United, looking to maintain the momentum sparked by their Nigerian star.
