Abalafagha Jumbo and Verdict Jumbo have emerged as Convener and Secretary, respectively, of the Youth Governors Forum of Jumbo Major House of Bonny Kingdom.
The new Convener is the Youth Leader of Arugbana-Ama Community, while the Secretary is the Youth Leader of Jumbo Ayaminima Community, both in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The new Convener succeeds Nengi Jumbo, who had just served out his term in office as Youth Leader of Orupiri Community, thus necessitating the leadership transition in the Forum.
The consensus of a two third majority of the Forum was reached to dissolve the Nengi Jumbo led leadership on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at a meeting of the Forum in Bonny, Rivers State.
The consensus was reached after a motion for the dissolution was moved and seconded by Fortune Jumbo, Youth Leader of Jumbo Abalamabie Community, and Verdict Jumbo, respectively.
This was immediately followed by a motion for the induction of a new Convener, which was moved and seconded by Gift Jumbo, Youth Leader of Burukiri Community, and Verdict Jumbo, respectively.
The Forum consequently agreed on a consensus to nominate officers for the office of the convener and secretary.

Abalafagha Jumbo’s nomination as Convener was moved and seconded by the duo of Gift Jumbo, Youth Leader of Burukiri Community, and Allwell Jumbo, Youth Leader of Georgekiri Community, respectively, and unanimously agreed to by a two third majority of the Forum.
Following this development, Verdict Jumbo was nominated and seconded by Ajemina Jumbo, Youth Leader of William Jumbo Community, and Fortune Jumbo, Youth Leader of Jumbo Abalamabie Community, and agreed to by a two third majority of the Forum to serve as Secretary.
In his acceptance speech, the new Convener, Abalafagha Jumbo promised to engage relevant stakeholders and foster a sense of unity within the youth arm of the House, appealing to the various factions among the youths to sheathe their swords and work together.
He called on relevant stakeholders to strengthen the bond of unity amongst the youths and search for progress, promising to stabilize the Forum, while recognizing all 17 Youth Governors (community youth leaders) that comprise the Forum as members of the NEC in line with Article 7 of the JMHYA constitution.
The Forum through its new Convener also called on relevant stakeholders such as the Ogbobiri Asawo, and the Elders Council of the House to help broker peace among aggrieved parties within the Youth Association and Jumbo Major House at large.
“Our action does not call for any further rancour within the association but to steer the association towards the path of peace and the search for progress. It’s a new dawn and we urge all well-meaning sons and daughters to throw their support behind us as the light has come,” he said.
