Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Ijeoma Ngọzi, has resigned her membership of the party.
Chairman of the PDP Obingwa LGA Chapter, Ahamefula Egbulefu confirmed receipt of her resignation letter on Monday, September 15, 2025.

In her letter, Mrs. Ngozi stated that she is moving on from the party, expressing her optimism to join some other political party later in the future.
Although she adduced no reason for her resignation, Mrs. Ijeoma thanked the party for giving her the opportunity to serve as Woman Leader over a period of time.

Commenting on Ijeoma Ngozi’s resignation and decision to leave the party, the PDP Obingwa LGA Chapter Chairman, Ahamefula Egbulefu accused the former Woman Leader of recently carrying out some anti-party moves.
He stated that these moves having been observed by the party, made it necessary and “politically proper that she steps down from the position instead of belonging to two parties at the same time”.
According to him, “the resignation is considered to be in the spirit of civility, mutual respect, and the PDP’s belief in the freedom of political association”.
