Orji Uzor-Kalu Declares Support For Younger Brother

Senate member representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor-Kalu, has declared his support to his younger brother, Mascot Uzor-Kalu in his decision to contest in the Abia State gubernitoaial elections in 2027. 

He made this statement on Wednesday, November 12 2025, in Abuja while addressing members of the press. 

The senator said He would do everything possible to make sure that Mascot Uzor-Kalu who defected to the All Progressive Congress a few weeks back, emerges top in the state elections. 

In his words, he described Abia State as one which needs keen care and attention and therefore, proposed Mascot Uzor-Kalu as the ideal leader to achieve that.  

“I will fight Alex Otti to make sure my brother Mascot wins Abia State governorship seat in 2027, unless the Governor Joins APC before the election. 

We cannot have a divided house. I am of the APC,the governor should also be our member else, we will do everything possible to make sure Mascot heads the affairs of the state. 

Orji Uzor-Kalu, who was a 2 term serving Governor of Abia State from 1999-2007, has been an active member of the Nigerian Senate since his end of tenure.
