Literacy and innovation hubs in Bonny Island such as Kids Resource Centre and Youth Resource Centre need all the support that can be mustered to sustain their trajectory of transgenerational impact and knowledge transfer, Chief Executive Officer of Kristina Reports, Godswill Jumbo has said.
Jumbo said this on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 when he visited the Literacy Summer Camp of the Kids Resource Centre (KRC) in Bonny, Rivers State.

He expressed delight over the programme, inquisitiveness of the children and passion of the organizers to create transgenerational impact and knowledge impartation, noting that the impact made today holds strong potential for shaping the future.
“It was a thrilling experience with the children at the Kids Resource Center’s Literacy Summer Camp this morning; that one hour spent with them was enlightening, illuminating, and inspiring.”
“In fact, for me, as a person, every opportunity I have to speak with children is one I cherish. Why? Because of the transgenerational impact it creates. Whatever we are today, we should be able to transfer that, do that knowledge transfer, impact vending from generation to generation.
“Who knows? From here, we may have the next president of Nigeria. We could have the next chief executives of Grade A companies, that will even make Forbes’ list. All of that. We could have the best medical doctors from here. All of that.”

“So, every opportunity I have, you know, because of this thought trajectory, I cherish it. So, it was very fulfilling for me this morning, speaking with the children.
“And I loved their very, very engaging and interacting questions they asked. You know, one, it’s like feedback for me that what was being communicated was being understood. Two, it also showed the hunger for more knowledge, for more understanding from the kids.”
“And then, the important one that’s, okay, we are creating vending machines that will now transmit this information they have absorbed, they have assimilated, to their homes, to their parents, to everyone around them.”
He praised the founder and Executive Director of KRC, Deborah Mogho, and her team of volunteers for their commitment to mainstream multifaceted learning opportunities for children in Bonny Island and beyond, urging them to sustain the tempo.
He also appealed to well-meaning individuals and organizations to identify with the Centre, as well as the Youth Resource Centre, asserting that synergy with relevant stakeholders would scale-up the profile of deliverables such learning hubs can avail society.
“I think the Kids Resource Center is doing a lot positively to be able to run this literacy summer camp again and again and again…and for me, I want to appeal to everyone who cares to listen that this is something that is worth supporting.

“Two organizations, the Kids Resource Center, the Youth Resource Center, are doing a lot, you know, to create transgenerational impact, to create knowledge transfer and all of that; and I think they need all the support that we can muster for them.
“So, I’m appealing that everyone should connect to this and see how we can make society better. The future we envisage can only be achieved by definite actions from us, that are guardians of the society today.”
Speaking, the Executive Director of the Kids Resource Centre, Deborah Mogho expressed delight over the Kristina Reports CEO’s visit and the time spent with the kids, describing the session as “enlightening and engaging”.

“Every year we organize a Literacy Summer Camp, and you know, this year we are having the Literacy Summer Camp for two weeks, impacting the lives of young children in our community.”
“It’s a program that goes beyond book reading; we have life skill programs where children learn to write, do creative writing. They also learn to bake and do some life skill activities. So, it’s a program that is centered around children from the ages of three to thirteen years.”
“It is done annually, and today we are excited to welcome Mr. Godswill Jumbo, the Director of Kristina Reports. He came today speaking on the impact of social media and screen time on children. It was a very enlightening and engaging time with the children.”
“I mean, you need to have heard the number of questions that these children asked, questions that go beyond the imaginations of adults. Children indeed are intelligent. Thank you, Mr. Jumbo, for coming to today to talk to the children about such an engaging and important topic, screen time.”
She stated that the Kids Resource Center, which is located in Bonny Island, is “committed to promoting literacy and empowering children to become the best version of themselves”.
“We always welcome children from the ages of three to twelve years. So, today, I am very happy, once again, to welcome Mr. Jumbo, as we move forward and as we look forward to another exciting time in 2026.”
“We welcome all children on this island. We bring you good news because this program is very, very educative, informative, and fun. So, yes, I’m very happy because the Literacy Summer Camp has come to stay. Make sure that next year your children do not miss this summer camp. Thank you all, and God bless you.”
