For the umpteenth time, Lucille International School (LIS) asserted its authority over the King/Queen of Mathematics Contest as its student, Ephraim Hart won the competition and emerged the next King of Mathematics for the 2026/2027 academic session.
This is just as the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Dr Victor Okolobah, alongside principals of the competing secondary schools hailed the organizers, Dr DJG Fubara Foundation and G30 Ibani Voice, for the present and futuristic value of the competition.

The Quiz Master, Dr Barisua Ngekpe, an Associate Professor of Structural Engineering at the Rivers State University (RSU), announced Hart, a class three senior secondary school student of Lucille International School, Bonny, as winner of the senior category.
He also announced Daniella Amegua, a class three junior secondary school student of Government Girls Secondary School, Finima, Bonny, as winner of the junior category.

Hart carted home the star prize of N2million while Amegua was awarded N500,000, with the first and second runners up for both categories winning varying amounts of cash prizes, plaques and educational materials.
Congratulating the winners, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Dr Victor Okolobah commended the organizers for the value addition the competition brings to educational development and societal progress, urging the organizers to sustain the legacy.

The President of the G30 Ibani Voice and Chairman of the Dr DJG Fubara Foundation, Dr Fubara Dan-Jumbo, who was represented by a former President of the Bonny Graduates Forum (BGF), Ipiriala Jumbo, congratulated the winners on the feat they have achieved, just as he also gave thumbs up to all the other contestants, saying they all made the contest a memorable event.

On their parts, the principals of the competing schools, who were represented by the Mathematics teachers of the respective schools, expressed delight over the contest, saying it furthers the interest of students in Mathematics and inspires them to be more studious and also aim high in life.
Giving a rundown of the programme, the Secretary General of G30 Ibani Voice, Godswill Hart informed that the competition, which inculcates all secondary schools in Bonny LGA, begins with the preliminary stage where various students from various schools compete to edge out others and culminates at the grand finale where winners for both categories eventually emerge.

Lucille International School won consecutively the Best Performing Principal, Best Mathematics Teacher and Best Performing School in the competition.







Highpoint of the event was the decoration of the new King of Mathematics, Ephraim Hart, with his sash and crown by the outgoing Queen of Mathematics, Pirinye Dappa, presentation of awards to the winners in both categories, special presentations and photo sessions with the dignitaries that graced the event.
